Scrip Program

Scrip is a great program that will benefit all the youth of St. John's Lutheran and will not cost you a single penny!! Stores and restaurants you already patronize will donate a percentage of what you spend back to St. John's. We're not asking you to buy anything you wouldn't ordinarily buy. What we are asking you to do is to pay for the things you buy with SCRIP instead of cash, check or credit card.

What is SCRIP?                                                                                                                                                                                          

SCRIP is a substitute for cash in the form of gift certificates and/or prepaid cards which you could go out and purchase on your own directly from retailers (both local and national). SCRIP is easy to use, and in most cases there is no restriction on how it can be used.

What kinds of stores can SCRIP be used at?                                                                                                                                        

 SCRIP can be used at almost any store.  Gas Stations have SCRIP cards available, as well as restaurants and grocery stores.  Clothing stores have SCRIP available as well as most hardware stores.  To see a complete listing click HERE. How does the program work?                                                                                                                                                                      

St. John's Lutheran SCRIP purchases gift certificates/cards from the merchants at a discount. You purchase a gift certificate/card from St. John's Lutheran at face value giving St. John's the difference as profit.

How much can St. John's Youth earn from the SCRIP program?
The potential is amazing! If 1/3 of the familes at St. John's used SCRIP only for gas, eating out, and groceries the annual profit could be $18,000. Imagine the total if everyone participated and if SCRIP was used for additional necessities!

I'd like to participate in SCRIP. What do I do?                                                              

  Order forms are available for use during the week at church and orders will be taken every Sunday during  fellowship time.  Orders will be placed on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, and will be available for pickup on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Please fill out the order form and bring to the SCRIP table along with check or cash.

What does the money raised go towards?                                                                

The money raised will go towards Children's Ministry--all things youth related--Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Get Up with God Bible studies, and any youth events.
